About
There is a lot of excitement for Bricks. But what exactly are they?
What are Bricks?
Bricks are a time-locked bundle of Monerochan.
What?
Bricks are an NFT that holds 1,337,000 Monerochan. These Monerochan are locked and can't be unlocked from the NFT until a set time. The longer the set time, the bigger the discount.
Can I unlock it before the lock time?
No. But you can trade the Brick on a secondary market. Only the holder of a Brick can burn the Brick to withdraw the Monerochan.
So redeeming locked tokens burns the Brick?
Yes. You have the option of withdrawing Monerochan from your Brick once the maturity date is reached. But you don't have to burn it. You can keep your Brick in your collection.
So is this an NFT, or Monerochan tokens?
Bricks are a time-lock mechanism for bulk sales of Monerochan. The Bricks smart contract holds the Monerochan. The smart contract adheres to the ERC721 standard, which is the standard for NFTs. This means that the locked Monerochan ownership is represented by a Brick NFT. The holder of the NFT is the only one who can unlock and redeem those tokens when the time-lock expires.
So I can trade Bricks?
Yes. You can trade Bricks on secondary markets such as OpenSea. Any marketplace that uses the ERC721 standard for NFTs can trade Bricks. This allows users to trade Monerochan tokens in bulk on any secondary market.
Is there artwork?
NFTs are synonymous with images. Pop culture has embraced them as nothing more than a collectible. While the focus of this specific NFT is not on the artwork, there is some artwork. The included artwork is stored fully on-chain. There are some alternative special edition Bricks with different artwork. There is nothing different about these other than the artwork used.
Why is the artwork so low-res?
The metadata, as well as the images, are stored fully on-chain. This comes with some limitations. Due to gas constraints, the images must be under a certain size, or the transaction writing them into the blockchain will fail. If you are interested in this project, visit: ONCHAIN IMGS GITHUB
How to Hold Bricks
Any web3 Ethereum wallet that is compatible with NFTs will hold Bricks.
Some wallets don't display images by default. This is because some NFT metadata can be used to leak user IPs. Bricks are fully on-chain and do not require a server to host the images.
How to Manage Bricks?
You can use the APP to manage your Bricks. Connect your web3 wallet, such as MetaMask, and you will see a list of all your Bricks as well as what date they unlock. When a Brick unlocks, you are able to press the "REDEEM" button. Please note that redeeming your NFT will destroy the NFT in exchange for the Monerochan it holds.
How do Bricks help the project?
Chanswap was a way to give discounted Monerochan to the Monero community. Unfortunately, some whales were taking advantage of the slippage for a profit.
Bricks are a way to give the community a discount for Monerochan in a way that guarantees they won't just dump it on the market.
Funds from the Brick sales will go towards L2 liquidity, marketing, listing costs, and token buybacks on Uniswap.
This is a WIN-WIN way to raise funds for the project without requiring any tokens to be sold on Uniswap.
